Background
Unisoc Microelectronics Co., Ltd. is a leading semiconductor company focused on providing critical microelectronic components for a wide range of electronic devices. To maintain its advanced manufacturing capabilities and technological leadership, the company implemented a monitoring system maintenance project in 2021. The goal of this project was to purchase a highly efficient maintenance monitoring system to achieve end-to-end monitoring of the company’s servers, middleware, databases, and other critical components, ensuring the continuity of the manufacturing process and system stability.
Challenges:
- Difficulty in Unified Monitoring: Due to the frequent updating and replacement of equipment, and the diversity in types, models, manufacturers, and protocols of the equipment, it was challenging to achieve unified monitoring using a single maintenance tool.
- Difficulty in Problem Localisation: The geographic distribution of the infrastructure is widespread and irregular, and the coexistence of multiple maintenance tools created data silos, all of which led to inefficient troubleshooting.
- Insufficient Application Performance Monitoring: Although there was a need for full-link monitoring from infrastructure to applications, there were deficiencies in application performance monitoring, particularly in continuous end-to-end application performance monitoring.
Results:
- Achieved Unified Monitoring of IT Infrastructure: The project enhanced the breadth and depth of monitoring by supporting domestic equipment and unifying data aggregation, management, and analysis.
- Enhanced Problem Resolution Efficiency: By implementing comprehensive monitoring management of various types of equipment, the project not only provided early warnings of potential issues but also significantly reduced the time to resolve faults through a one-click localisation feature.
- Code-Level Performance Problem Localisation: The project achieved code-level localisation and analysis of problems during application runtime, helping IT personnel to deeply analyse the root causes of issues, which played a key role in enhancing system stability and business continuity.
